Musically Challenged #16–Songs from Movies

Hello!  Today begins our new challenge at Musically Challenged.  We’ve changed things up a bit and this time around we want you to make a project based on a song from a movie…that’s right, any song, from any movie!

Our sponsor this time is Sassy Studio Designs, so that’s where my Briar Rose image is from.

I chose to go with the song Once Upon a Dream from the movie Sleeping Beauty.  It’s one of my favorite movie songs.

Here’s my card…

Last Minute Laura!

Yep, that’s me!  I just finished a DT project for tomorrow, and now I’m going to show you a couple of projects that had to be done by the end of this month.Winking smile

First, I have a card that I made for the September Freaky Freebie Challenge on Smeared and Smudged.  The image is from Smeared Ink.

DSCN1153v2

The little headstone stamp is from Luni Stamps.  I stamped it on a piece of paper and then added a glass pebble.  I got this idea from Shell over at Smeared and Smudged.  She has some awesome ideas!

DSCN1155v2

DSCN1156v2

The zombie playing cards are legit playing cards.  I bought two decks of them.  Each one has a humorous zombie related tip on it.

Next up is a journal page I made for the September Rock N’ Rolla Challenge at Smeared and Smudged.  The video was Your Betrayal by Bullet for My Valentine.  They’re one of my favorite bands(I’m going to see them next month for the third time!), so I had to play along.

DSCN1149v2

This page was a blast to make.  I used crayon, a colored pencil, Dylusions spray ink, Memento ink, and Distress ink.  I used some Tim Holtz stencils for some of it.  I also used a background script stamp from somewhere(sorry, I don’t remember where it was from).  Some doodling and writing and there you go!

Thanks for looking!  Maybe I’ll be more on time next month…LOL…yeah, right.

Our sponsor this time around is Milk Coffee, so that’s where my adorable image comes from.

I just made a simple card this time.  I took my inspiration from the colors in the video, and the little girl’s wings.

Smudgefest Day 6!

Today is Day 6 of Smudgefest!  Whoa!  I can’t believe I made it in time today.  I’ve been away at a stamping convention last night and all day today, so I had to try to throw a project together tonight.  Today’s challenge is “Sketchy Saturday”…a sketch challenge(as the name would imply).

I used a digi stamp from Smeared Ink on my card.(I really like this circus set)

DSCN0945v2

It’s a little off, but I think you can tell I was trying to follow the sketch.(at least I hope so)

I had a lot of fun this weekend.  I got to meet a couple of friends from one of the online crafting groups I’m in, which was really cool.  And I got to meet Dyan Reaveley.  She was extremely nice and a lot of fun to watch.

Here’s a picture of us.

Come Hither

Hello.  I’m here to show you a card I made for the current challenge in The Stamping Chef’s Facebook group.  The requirements were to use the beautiful image from The Stamping Chef, and “Make it Steampunk-ish/gothic-ish/renaissance-ish/vintage-ish!!”

Here’s what I came up with.

Smudgefest Day 3!

Hello!  I was a little worried I wouldn’t get a project done today.  I have come down with a whopper of a head cold.  Yay!(not so much) Anyway, Day 3 of Smudgefest is a color challenge.

I used a digi from Smeared Ink on my card.  I did something different.  I digitally colored the image, then printed it out and added a little shadow with markers.  I kept the card simple.

Smudgefest Day 2!

Hello!  Day 2 of Smudgefest has the following challenge:

“TERRIFYING TUESDAY

Create a project that showcases your favorite scary Smeared Ink image. Go ahead, pull out all the stops and give us the willies!”

I used three images from the Circus Procession digi set from Smeared Ink, and a rubber stamp from the Morte set that Rick St. Dennis did for the Smeared Ink Rubber Club.

It’s a 5.5” square card.

I’d also like to enter this into the current regular challenge at Smudgy Antics, which is to use fussy cutting.  I fussy cut the clown and the banner.

Thanks for looking!  Hopefully I’ll see you again tomorrow!
