Musically Challenged #16–Songs from Movies

Hello!  Today begins our new challenge at Musically Challenged.  We’ve changed things up a bit and this time around we want you to make a project based on a song from a movie…that’s right, any song, from any movie!

Our sponsor this time is Sassy Studio Designs, so that’s where my Briar Rose image is from.

I chose to go with the song Once Upon a Dream from the movie Sleeping Beauty.  It’s one of my favorite movie songs.

Here’s my card…

Our new challenge is Chris Isaak’s Go Walking Down There.  Check out the challenge post to watch the video!

We are being sponsored by Sassy Studio Designs, so that’s where my image is from.

I made an art journal page for this challenge.

Sassy Progressive Relay Round 2

Wow.  I started this project yesterday, but I’m still getting this in close to the wire.  Ugh.  One day I’ll get something done in plenty of time.  Anyway, the challenge for this round was:  “Create a project using Steampunk Amelia plus a clock(s) and/or gears!”  Please visit Sassy Studio Designs for more details about this relay and celebration.:)

Of course I couldn’t just do a quick and simple card… I just had to try something new.  Silly me.  I can now say I have made a napkin fold card…

The clock on the front of the card was made from a lid of a tin can, which makes it qualify for the Smeared and Smudged Junk Funk Challenge for this month.:)

Sassy Progressive Challenge Round 1

I’m getting this in a little late, but I had to play along with this.  Sassy Studio Designs is celebrating 500 followers on their PCP group, so they’re hosting a progressive challenge right now.  The first round of the challenge was to make a project with Steampunk Josephine using metal embellishments.  Here’s my card…

DTBST #92-Autumn Colors

Hi!  This is my last post as a Guest Designer for Sassy Studio Designs.  I would like to say a huge THANK YOU to all of the ladies at SSD!  It’s been a pleasure working with you this month!:)

The challenge this week is simple…use autumn colors.  Here’s my card…

100_5840

Sorry if the pics look a little hazy.  My 3-year-old had gotten his tiny fingerprints on my camera lens.

Papers from my stash.  Stickers from K&Co.  I used Distress Stains on the textured background piece and along the edges of the image piece.  Anyone else still trying to get used to how to use these?  It’s been a bit of a learning process for me.

Thanks for looking!  And thanks for all of the great comments people have left on my Sassy projects this month!:)

New Release and Hop with Sassy Studio Designs!

Hello!  If you’ve been hopping along you will have come here from Lindsay’s blog.  If not, you’ll want to start at the beginning at Sassy Studio Designs.  There are trivia questions at all of the stops, so you’ll want to visit and comment on them all for a chance to win one of these fabulous new images!  Plus, you really don’t want to miss out on the gorgeous projects from the DT!(they’re so very talented!)

Here’s the card I made using the new Frankenstein image…

100_5783

100_5782

I tried to color him to look like a black and white movie.  I used foam tape to pop him off the page a bit.  Paper is from DCWV and Martha Stewart.  The printed words are actually the concluding words from the novel Frankenstein.

Now for my trivia question:  How old was Mary Shelley when she began writing Frankenstein?

Here’s the hop order just in case you need it…

2 Sassy for You!

Sorry, I know that the title is really cheesy.;)  But I am going to show you 2 cards I’ve made using images from the Sassy Studio Designs shop.  First, my card for this week’s Dare to be Sassy Thursday.  The challenge is to use both stripes and polka dots.

100_5776

(I don’t know why she’d want to sit in the liquid, but it was fun to color it that way, haha)

The second card features one of the new masked images.  I really love this one.  Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring the challenge over at Cooking It Up With Katie right now, so I made this one to go along with their challenge.  The challenge:

“Start with a Girl (or something Girlie)
Add a little (or a lot) of Green
Include a Group (more than 2 of the same thing)”

The gorgeous paper on this one is from Crafty Chaos Designs.  I thought it made a perfect frame for the lovely warrior queen.:)

Sassy Sneak Peak!

Hi!  Today I get to show you one of the new images that will be released on the 17th from Sassy Studio Designs!  I really enjoyed coloring this one…

100_5737

100_5738

I am so pleased to have another Marilyn Monroe image to play with!

And I used Glimmer Mist for the first time!  I think it looks kinda cool on the brick embossing.:)  The paper strips in the background are Echo Park, the rest is just stuff from my stash.  The little gear thing is Tim Holtz.  I think I’m finally getting the hang of coloring hair!

A Sassy Petal Card

Hello.  If you haven’t seen the post yet, they’ve posted the winners from the Sassy Masquerade over on the Sassy Studio blog.  The winner that Random.org chose from my comments was Sandra!  Congratulations Sandra!  If you haven’t already you can email Lindsay at sassystudiodesigns (at) yahoo (dot) com to claim your prize.

I’m sharing my first petal card with you today.  It was much easier than I thought it would be.  It was really pretty fun to  make.:)  I made this card for DTBST #89.  The challenge is to use buttons, bows, brads, and bling on your project.  That’s a lot of embellishments for me!  I chose to use the awesome Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend image from Sassy Studio Designs.

Here’s the inside of the card…

It’s a Sassy Masquerade Ball!(and Freebie!)

Welcome to the Sassy Masquerade Ball!  We’re celebrating over 400 followers on the Sassy Studio Designs Paper Craft Planet group!  If you’re hopping with us you should have arrived here from Lindsay’s blog.  If you just stumbled on this post then you will want to go back to the beginning at the Sassy Studio Designs blog.  Believe me, you do not want to miss the lovely goodies all along this hop.;)

(sorry, the freebie isn’t here anymore)

This is Ariel.  Isn’t she cute?  I think all of the Little Honeys are so cute.  Grab her while you can, she won’t be here for very long.  But if you want more freebies just remember that every Friday is Fabulous Freebie Friday over on the Sassy Studio PCP group.  There’s a new image available for download there every week.

Now on to my project.  I colored her up and my 7-year-old daughter fell in love with her, so I decided to make a journal for her.

DTBST #85-Distressing

I love distressing!  So I decided I really needed to play along with the Dare To Be Sassy Thursday Challenge this time around.:)  I chose to use Popcorn Patty from Sassy Studio Designs.  I think she makes quite a sassy redhead…

Sassy Rock N' Roller

Dare to be Sassy Thursdays has an awesome theme challenge going on right now. The challenge is to make a project that answers the question, are you a little bit country, or, a little bit rock n' roll? Fun!

This wasn't a hard question for me to answer.;)

Here you can see the sentiment a little better, and the ribbon I put inside...

And my little girl made a card, too.:)

My cardstock is Bazzill Basics, my paper from The Paper Studio. My daughter's cardstock is from DCWV. We both used Sock Hop Sweetheart from Sassy Studio Designs. I used colored pencils, she used Prismacolor markers.

Thanks for looking!:)
