Here’s a card I made, using the first Twilight-esque stamp I ever bought, from The Greeting Farm.  I stamped him on sticky back canvas and then colored him.  He has a little bit of sparkle around the edges, but it’s hard to make it out in the photos.

Deciding what characters to feature for this hop was hard for me…so I decided to feature multiple characters!

My first card features the Alice Cullen and Jasper images.  They’re actually my favorite couple from the books.

(it’s hard to tell, but there’s actually a lot of sparkle on the paper squares)

Next is a card featuring the Marry Me…Bella image.

And I couldn’t leave Jacob out, so my last card features the Wolf Jacob image.

TTIC #60 The Final Challenge

So, here it is. My final project for a Twilight Tuesday challenge. I'm sad to see the challenges stop, but with all of the stamps and digis I have that are Twilight themed I'm sure you'll see more Twilight projects from me from time to time in the future.;) Here's the final challenge:

"Our challenge theme???? ”Love of books, the printed words on a page” since that is what brought us all together.

Creative portion: Create a project that uses printed text: a page from a magazine, book, dictionary, etc. within your project, as the background or focal point.

Comment Portion: I love to read the newspaper online but nothing beats a printed newspaper on Sunday mornings. And no matter how hard I try, I can’t abandon books (hardcover, softcover, or paperback) to a digital reader. Are you totally digital or do you prefer a good old fashioned printed page in your hands?”

Cardstock Bazzill Basics. Apple paper from Paper Pizazz. Stamp and Digi Stamp from The Greeting Farm. Copics and one Prismacolor marker were used to color the stamps.(Thank you, Jen, for the Edward hair tutorial!!) Stardust Stickles on "Bella's" eyeshadow and button. The paper with the words printed on it was from a journal of mine, I just tore out a page for this.

I decided to use a bunch of quotes that I enjoy from Bella and Edward as the printed background. The little flowers have some of the quotes printed on them, too. I could have filled pages with the quotes I enjoy from the books, but I had to limit myself to just a few here.:)

As for the comment portion...I prefer a real book to digital books. I like the feeling of holding a book in my hands. I like the smell of the paper and ink. I feel more connected to the story and characters when it's an actual physical book. I will occasionally read a short story on the computer, but I have trouble focusing on the screen without it drying out my eyes. I don't mind an audio book from time to time, but I tend to let my mind wander when someone else is reading.

TTSC #15

I decided to change it up a bit this week and make a bookmark! I used the Twilight Tuesday Sketch Challenge #15 for this. I like the sketch, but I feel it would have worked better on a card where I could have gotten more elaborate. I didn't want to do too many bumpy/raised things on the bookmark since it's supposed to lay almost flat between the pages of a book.;)



I got to use some of my Twilight stamps that I bought at Barnes & Noble! I also used La Creme card stock from DCWV, Paper Pizazz papers in Black/White Sprigs and Gold with Black Border, a silver eyelet, gold hearts craft ribbon from JoAnn, red heart stickers from the I Love My Dog Cloud9 Design stickers.

I'm going to give this bookmark to my mom, who just recently got hooked on Twilight.:)

Twilight Tuesday Anniversary Blog Hop!!

Twilight Tuesday is having a 1 year anniversary blog hop today! And what's better is that I'm getting to be a stop on this blog hop!

So, instead of a regular challenge this week, you can go back through the 51 previous challenges and choose one of them to do. How cool is that? So, since I'm new I decided to go back and do the challenge that was from week #17, Jacob Black.

The challenge was to create a project that captures the essence of the special bond between Bella and Jacob.

The comment portion was to "Explain your version of the relationship between he and Bella, or he and the other Quileutes… basically, the essence of Jake. What is the dynamic that draws you in or *GASP* deters you from him. ***note: I don’t intend for this to be a TJ vs TE debate! This is NOT about Edward!*** Do you know someone who is as special as he is to Bella? Does the rebuildng of a car remind you of something or someone? Did someone special teach you to drive (a motorcycle?), or save your life??? et al… Take this any way you want. I just want to see a little puppy love and will abuse my executive power on this one to get it!!!"

So, here's my card, and then I'll explain...

I'm definitely drawn to Jacob. He's fun, he's sweet, he's protective, but not overbearing. He's basically an ideal best friend. I do actually have one friend who really did save my life. I've nearly drowned twice(as a kid), and the second time that this happened one of my friends towed me into safety when everyone else ignored my calls for help.(No, I'm not making this up)

So, for this card I wanted something that really said "Jacob" to me. I used the pine forest paper(from Colorbok) and the rocks paper(from DCWV) because they reminded me of Forks and La Push where Jacob and Bella hung out. I used the EK Success Paw Print punch because I couldn't resist, and because I love Jacob as a wolf(and wolves in general). The stickers are from Fiskars/Cloud 9 Design, the pack is called I Love My Dog, ha ha. I used some leftover ribbon from something else. I hope you like it. It was a fun project for me.:)

Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge - Edward Cullen

I did this project for the Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge for this week. This week's challenge was Edward Cullen. From their site: "For the creative challenge: Create a project that focuses on Edward. For the comment portion: How do you feel about Edward's character? Is it like, love or disdain? Have you read the partial draft of Midnight Sun? What did you think about reading the story from his point of view?"

Well, I love Edward. I mean don't get me wrong, he can be way too protective and controlling at times, but I still love him in the end. I have read Midnight Sun, I loved it even more than Twilight. I liked seeing things from a more mature view, it made it easier to understand his actions throughout the book and explained some things that were left to the imagination in Twilight.

Here's the card I made and then I'll explain it...





I used the typical black, white, and red color scheme. I used the DCWV Full Moon paper because I think Edward - and any other vampire - is more comfortable after the sun goes down, it's easier to be yourself when you don't have to worry about sparkling around someone.;) I used the Paper Pizazz Red Music paper because Edward is a beautiful musician. I used the heart from the Colorbok Victorian Hearts paper because Edward is a very loving and loyal person.(and I thought the Victorian style suited him) At the bottom I stamped LION with silver pigment ink, not just because of the famous quote from the book, but also because he's described as being like the mountain lions that are his favorite meal.LOL I hope it all makes sense. I would have used a photo of Edward, but all the ones I have are cheap magazine pictures and I didn't know how I could make them look good against cardstock. Oh well. It was still fun.:) I hope you enjoy it!
