February Bombshell Blog Hop

Hello!  We have a really awesome theme this month for our hop.  The theme is “Leap into Action!”  We were to make our Bombshells into heroes.  Fun!  I chose to go with an everyday hero, using Bombshell Angel , To the Rescue Bombshell and Tiki Party from Bombshell Stamps.

Thanks for looking!  Your next stop is the fabulous Kelli!

Here’s the hop list…

Twisted Fairy Tale

Hi!  This is a last minute entry for the Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls challenge #8 .

I chose the classic Grimm fairy tale of Snow White and Rose-Red.  I always liked this fairy tale when I was a kid.  So, to give it a twist I used an awesome image from Simply B Stamps.

Pixie’s Bookshelf is Back!

I was really excited to see that Pixie’s Bookshelf has started up again with challenges and monthly reads.  I love the concept of reading a book and then making a project based on it.  But now there are extra challenges being hosted there!  Their current challenge is to make a project based on your favorite story, or book.  Well, I have a long list of favorite books.  So, I decided to just go with one of my new favorites…A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin.

I used Wolf Jacob from Pixie Dust Studio.  I colored him to look like Ghost, Jon Snow’s direwolf.  I typed and printed out the Stark family motto.

Liebster Blog Award

Hi!  This morning I found that my amazing friend Alison had presented me with this award.  Thank you so much, Alison!!  Your blog is a constant source of inspiration to me.:)

About this award…

These awards give small bloggers with less than 200 followers some well deserved recognition for their creations. Here are the rules:
* Thank your Liebster Blog Award presenter on your blog.

* Link back to the blogger who presented the award to you.
* Copy and paste the blog award on your blog.
* Present the Liebster Blog Award to 5 blogs of 200 followers or less who you feel deserve to be noticed.
* Let them know they have been chosen by leaving a comment at their blog.

OK, so picking just 5 blogs is hard!  I tried to pick 5 that I really enjoy and that I don’t think have received this award yet.  Here they are, in random order…

Give Yourself Over

Ndustrial Lemon

Ikes’ World

MissAlaineous’ Mosaics

All of these ladies are extremely talented!  And each one of them has the ability to be so versatile, too!  Definitely be sure to check out some of their creations.

Thanks again, Alison!  You made my day with this.:)

February Blissfull Swap

Just wanted to take a moment to share pictures of the ATC’s from this month’s Blissfull ATC Swap.  The theme was “It’s a mad, mad, Alice in Wonderland World”.  My swap partner was Debbie Reed, and she was such a sweet swap partner to have.:)  Thank you for everything, Debbie!

Here’s the awesome ATC that Debbie sent to me.

And here is the ATC that I sent to her.

February Bombshell Sketch

I had to make a card for a grieving friend recently, so I decided to use the February Bombshell Sketch for this card.  I’ve actually had this image colored for a while, but couldn’t figure out what I wanted to use it for.  I think it makes a peaceful image for my sympathy/thinking of you card.  The main image is from the Lotus Garden set, and the sentiment is from Rose’s Portrait.  Both are from Bombshell Stamps.

Heart’s Desire Journal Page

I made a journal page for the newest Art Journal Prompt on Smeared and Smudged.  The theme is Heart’s Desire.(open to interpretation)

I also would like to submit my page for Smudgy Antics Anything Goes Challenge, and for PosionedPeas First Challenge.

And with flash…

This page was very personal for me.  It focuses on my struggle of living with a panic disorder, and how I wish my heart could just stay at a steady rhythm all the time.  Gears are from 100 Proof Press, letter stamps are from Studio G, clock stamp is from Graphic 45, and the heart is from Smeared Ink.

And my daughter wanted to make something again for the Smudgy Antics challenge, so here’s her card, using stamps from Smeared Ink.

She drew a little spider on top of the web.:)

Grumpie Canvas

Hi!  I’m here today to show you a mixed media canvas panel that I made last night.  It was so much fun!

I made this project for the current Smudgy Antics challenge, and for the February Guest Designer challenge on Smeared and Smudged.  All stamps used are from Smeared Ink.

It was really hard to photograph this because of the metallic paint.  I used acrylic paint, Memento ink, Distress crackle paint, and alcohol ink.  I had never actually used a colored crackle paint before, I always used the clear stuff before.

And because my daughter has been wanting to play along with more challenges she made a card for the Smudgy Antics sketch.:)

Isn’t it cute?  I love the way she colored the flower and the Goth Fairy.
