S&S June GDT Challenge

Hi!  I’m back again with another last minute project.  This one is for the current GDT Challenge on Smeared and Smudged.  The challenge this month is Masks.

I made a 3x3 card, using a digi from Smeared Ink.  I drew the eyes inside the mask(thus the wonkiness).

Nuts and Bolts and Wings, Oh My!

Hello!  I’m here today to share my latest project with you.  I made a kind of mixed media canvas to go along with the current Use a Rubber monthly challenge.  This is a challenge for the members of the Smeared Ink Rubber Club…each month a different set is featured and you have to make a project using that set.  This month’s set was Urban Decay, which is a really cool set from Smeared Ink.

I used 4 stamps from the set.  The rest of the girl is my own drawing.

It’s a 6x6 canvas.  I painted the front with red and yellow paints, the sides with black.

Sparkle and Glitter June Freebie Challenge

Hello!  So the freebie this month on the Sparkle and Glitter blog is absolutely gorgeous!  Rick St. Dennis draws such beautiful ladies.  The challenge is “Anything But Square and no sharp corners”.  I decided to try a “different” shape for my card.

MMM–Romeo & Juliet vs. Moulin Rouge

Hello!  Sorry I’m getting this up late today, but it’s been a rough few days for me and my family.  Anyway, the new challenge over at Movie Magic Monthly is Romeo & Juliet vs. Moulin Rouge.  While I love the play by Shakespeare, I was not a huge fan of the film adaptation of Romeo & Juliet.  Moulin Rouge, though, is one of my favorites.

I decided to decorate a cigar box.  I used paper from Graphic 45, a digi from Smeared Ink, a sentiment I typed on the computer, and a bit of Distress marker.

Airless Chambers June Freebie Challenge

The June Freebie on Airless Chambers is such a fun image from Rick St. Dennis.  So I just had to play along with the challenge, which is “Anything But Square and no sharp corners”.

I made a heart-shaped card…now I don’t consider the point at the bottom of the heart a “sharp corner”, so hopefully they won’t consider it one either.Winking smile

For whatever reason, when I saw this guy a song started going through my head, so I just went with it.

Skull Appreciation Day Blog Hop!!!

Hi!  Welcome to the Skull Appreciation Day Blog Hop With Smeared Ink!  If you are following the hop list order then you should have arrived here from Tori’s awesome blog!  If not, the entire hop list is in my right sidebar for your hopping pleasure.  If you would like some background info on how Skull Appreciation Day got started, then check out Skull-A-Day.

So, I kind of got carried away this year with my project ideas.  Please bear with me through my many explanations and pictures.Winking smile

When I signed up for this year’s hop I started doodling, trying to figure out what I was going to do…

And then there was this guy…

I looked at him and thought, he would make such a cool cross-stitch pattern.  So I turned him into a cross-stitch pattern…

But he was so lonely, so I made him a girlfriend…

Here are the patterns, if you would like to use them.  I would love to see what you make with them.  All I ask is that you give credit to me for the pattern, and if someone else would like the pattern, please provide them with a link back here.

Here’s The Dapper Gentleman

and

Here’s Comtesse de Cranienne

(note:  the backstitching isn’t actually shown on the pattern, but I’m sure you can figure it out…I used 2 strands of floss, and 14-count Aida cloth)

And because I’m a total nutter, I came up with tea blends inspired by their characters.  See here…

(note:  I do not make any money if you buy my tea blends from Adagio Teas, but I do get points towards free tea.  There is always a link in my right sidebar to my tea blends if you ever just want to see what kind of blends I concoct.)

And the Movie Magic Monthly DT decided to play along with this hop, so I made something movie inspired for that.

I made a jewelry set inspired by the singing skulls from the opening song in Muppet Treasure Island.

Here’s the pendant, using a digi from Smeared Ink

And here’s the bracelet, using a stamp from Bombshell Stamps

Background paper on both is from 7 Gypsies.  Edges have Antique Gold Perfect Pearls applied to them.

If you have made it this far, you are a treasure, and you have my thanks!  xoxo

Your next stop is the fabulous Kapree!

Happy Hopping!  And Happy Skull Appreciation Day!!
