Skull Appreciation Day Blog Hop!!!

Hi!  Welcome to the Skull Appreciation Day Blog Hop With Smeared Ink!  If you are following the hop list order then you should have arrived here from Tori’s awesome blog!  If not, the entire hop list is in my right sidebar for your hopping pleasure.  If you would like some background info on how Skull Appreciation Day got started, then check out Skull-A-Day.

So, I kind of got carried away this year with my project ideas.  Please bear with me through my many explanations and pictures.Winking smile

When I signed up for this year’s hop I started doodling, trying to figure out what I was going to do…

And then there was this guy…

I looked at him and thought, he would make such a cool cross-stitch pattern.  So I turned him into a cross-stitch pattern…

But he was so lonely, so I made him a girlfriend…

Here are the patterns, if you would like to use them.  I would love to see what you make with them.  All I ask is that you give credit to me for the pattern, and if someone else would like the pattern, please provide them with a link back here.

Here’s The Dapper Gentleman

and

Here’s Comtesse de Cranienne

(note:  the backstitching isn’t actually shown on the pattern, but I’m sure you can figure it out…I used 2 strands of floss, and 14-count Aida cloth)

And because I’m a total nutter, I came up with tea blends inspired by their characters.  See here…

(note:  I do not make any money if you buy my tea blends from Adagio Teas, but I do get points towards free tea.  There is always a link in my right sidebar to my tea blends if you ever just want to see what kind of blends I concoct.)

And the Movie Magic Monthly DT decided to play along with this hop, so I made something movie inspired for that.

I made a jewelry set inspired by the singing skulls from the opening song in Muppet Treasure Island.

Here’s the pendant, using a digi from Smeared Ink

And here’s the bracelet, using a stamp from Bombshell Stamps

DSCN0626

Background paper on both is from 7 Gypsies.  Edges have Antique Gold Perfect Pearls applied to them.

If you have made it this far, you are a treasure, and you have my thanks!  xoxo

Your next stop is the fabulous Kapree!

Happy Hopping!  And Happy Skull Appreciation Day!!
