Speak “Friend” and Enter

Hello!  I’m here today with a reminder post about our current challenge at Movie Magic Monthly, which is Lord of the Rings vs. Harry Potter.  I have a new project to show you that contains two gorgeous new images from the incredibly talented Rick St. Dennis.

I made a door hanger/sign that uses a quote from the movie and book of Lord of the Rings.  The background of the sign was made by using some modeling paste, and then applying some sparkly and metallic acrylic paints.

April S&S Junk Funk Challenge

Hello.  This month’s Junk Funk Challenge on Smeared and Smudged was to use foil.  I was very excited, because I actually had foil on hand!

I taped some foil to some plain cardstock and then embossed it.  Then I mixed up some rusty colored paint and used it on the embossed foil.

Architectural Elements and Skeletal Remains

Hellooo!  I have a new project to share with you today.  I’ve been working on this one for a few days.  I had to let layers dry before I could put it all together.  You’ll see…

I made this project with two challenges in mind.  The April GDT Challenge on Smeared and Smudged is to Add an Architectural Element, brought to us this month by the awesome Sharon Sahl.  And right now the challenge over at HDH is Skeletal Remains, to include some kind of skeleton, bones, etc.

The skeleton image is one from a while back at The Graphics Fairy.  The archway stamp is a rubber stamp from Mrs. O’Leary’s.  I stamped it on some heavy board and cut it out.  I used a couple of layers of modeling paste on the outside of this notebook, then I painted it with acrylic paint, then I splattered some Dylusions ink on it so that it would look bloody.  Then I added Mr. Skeleton and the arch.

Tada…

And a close-up in natural light, so that you can see the skeleton…

April Showers

Hi.  Today I am here to show you a journal spread I made.  I made it to go along with the new Freaky Freebie challenge on Smeared and Smudged, and it also goes along with the current Anything But a Card challenge.  Yay!  I hardly ever play along with more than one challenge at a time anymore.Smile

The image is from Smeared Ink, and is free for forum members that participate in the new Freaky Freebie Challenge.

I used Distress Inks for the backgrounds, and for the raindrops.

We’ve had a few thunderstorms here recently.  But I got a few cool pictures as a result.  This was behind my house…

SBS April Fan Page Challenge

Hello!  I’m here to share a creation I made for the current SBS Fan Page Challenge.  The challenge is to use the image provided and include swirls and ribbon.  To receive the image you had to be a member of the SBS FB Fan Page

Here’s the card I made…

I couldn’t find any really swirly paper in my stash, so I used a swirly stamp and made some!  This image made a song get stuck in my head, so I just went ahead and used it for the sentiment.

Here’s the inside sentiment…

April Smeared and Smudged Member Hop!

Hello!  If you’re hopping along with us you should have arrived here from Kapree’s awesome blog.  If not, the hop list is below, for your hopping convenience.

Our theme for today is “Dirty Vintage”.  How awesome is that?!

I made a mini book.  It measures 4” x 3”.  I used images from the Smitten and Circus Procession digi sets from Smeared Ink.  Lots of distressing.  And some Tim Holtz stickers.  Fun!

Favorite Technique with A Day For Daisies

I decided to play along with the current challenge at A Day For Daisies, which is to use your favorite technique.  Here’s a link to their store, where you can find a ton of gorgeous images.  I used the adorable freebie from the blog.

Lately, my favorite technique is making pinwheels on my cards, so that’s what I went with for this card.  I just took it a step further and made it look like a quilt pattern.  I thought that was fitting since the little girl looked like she could be at a fair.Smile

Hello!  Today starts our third challenge over at Movie Magic Monthly.  This month is Lord of the Rings versus Harry Potter.  I am on the side of LOTR all the way, baby!

For my first project this month…I made a cake!  I tried to make it look like one of the hobbit holes in the Shire.  Check it out…
