December Smeared & Smudged Member Hop!

Hello!  Today is the Smeared & Smudged monthly member blog hop.  The theme this month is Anything Goes.  As I’ve stated before, I love an anything goes theme!

Here is the full hop list to guide you along your way…

Black Dragon

Laura – You are Here!

Evil Edna

I decided to make a mixed media canvas piece, since that’s one of my favorite things to make.

I’ve used a few stamps from the Urban Decay rubber set from the Smeared Ink Rubber Club along the edges of my canvas.  I really like this stamp set…it’s very versatile.

This was a lot of fun to make.  It looks a bit more distressed in person, but I had a little trouble getting it to photograph well.  I’ve been saving the spring for a long time, so I’m glad it finally has a home.

Thank you for looking!  Happy Hopping!

Journal Pages for Smeared and Smudged

Hello!  I just wanted to share a couple of journal pages I’ve made to go along with some of the prompts and techniques that my fellow Art Journal Every Day DT members have come up with over at Smeared and Smudged.

Tori had posted the prompt of Music Notes, so I came up with this page…

The colors are truer to life in the following picture, but the metallic paint was giving me issues…

I used the Poe stamp from the Quoth the Raven set from the Smeared Ink Rubber Club.

Susan posted a prompt and technique that was called “Save it”, and this is the page I created for that…

I used a stamp from the Haunted Places 1 set done by Rick St. Dennis for the Smeared Ink Rubber Club.

If you’re curious about what the techniques or prompts involve, then I encourage you to head on over to the Smeared and Smudged forum to see what we’re up to in the Art Journal Every Day group.  The forum is free and friendly, and full of helpful info!

Thanks for looking!  Tomorrow I will be posting a new prompt and technique over at Smeared and Smudged!

Musically Challenged #15–The Beatles!

Hi!  Today we start a new challenge at Musically Challenged.  This time, instead of being inspired by one music video, we’re drawing our inspiration from an entire band…The Beatles!  So, you can choose to be inspired by one of their music videos, one of their movies, or just one of their song lyrics.

Our sponsor is Sami Stamps, so that is where my image comes from this time.

I chose to go with the song Eleanor Rigby.  It’s one of my favorites…it’s just one of those songs that has always spoken to me.

Here’s the journal page I made…

Thanks for looking!  I hope you will play along with our anything goes Beatles challenge.
