Bat digi is from Smeared Ink.  The black and grey printed paper is from Crafty Chaos Designs.

I’m not super happy with how this card turned out.  I had a sentiment printed out for it, but I couldn’t find a good placement for it.  Oh well, it’s been a crappy day all around.:(

Thanks for looking!  See you tomorrow for the final day of Smudgefest!!

Smudgefest Day 5

We’re getting near the end of this week of challenges!  For details on Smudgefest please visit the Smudgy Antics blog.

Here’s today’s challenge…

FLOWING FRIDAY

Create a project using a flowing medium. Some examples could be watercolor, liquid ink, liquid glues, thinned out acrylics, etc.... use your imagination and let the juices flow!

I decided to use low body acrylics on a canvas panel.

I used Glitter Mod Podge over the hearts to make them sparkle.  The hearts are from Smeared Ink.

It was fun watching the paint flow together. :)

It was hard to photograph this paint, though.  It’s very metallic.

Thanks for looking!  And thank you for your comments!

Smudgefest Day 2

Here I am with my Day 2 project for Smudgefest.  This one took me a while to figure out, and then a while to make.  Here’s what was said about today’s challenge…

“TERRIFYING TUESDAY

Create a project that showcases your favorite scary Smeared Ink image. Go ahead, pull out all the stops and give us the willies!”

I decided to go back to my roots, so to speak.  I read a lot of Poe and Agatha Christie as a kid.  Explains a lot, doesn’t it?;)  Anyway, I can remember hearing someone read The Tell Tale Heart to me when I was young, and I thought it was so creepy, yet so cool!  So that’s what inspired my card today.  Take a look…

The front of the card…

The inside, with the floor mostly closed…

And with the floor open…

Close up of the heart…

The awesome heart is from Smeared Ink.  The tipped over chair is from The Graphics Fairy.  The eyeball is from Inkadinkado.(I used vellum over the blue to make the eye “milky”)

Thanks for looking!  Until tomorrow…bwahahaha.

Smudgefest Day 1

Today is the first day of Smudgefest.  Follow the link to learn more.  It’s a week of challenges, a different one each day.  There are prizes involved.  Today’s challenge is to “Create a bi-polar project that showcases two opposites.

I decided to make a twisted easel card.  This format really helped to carry out my idea.  It’s probably not the best thing I could come up with for this challenge, but I only have till the end of the day to post a project, so I had to go with the only real idea that came to me, lol.  Oh well.

There are really two sets of opposites in this card, if you want to get technical – Life and Death, and Up Above and Down Below.  There are living creatures in the above ground portion and a poor little dead bat in the below ground portion(fittingly under the gravestones).

It’s hard to tell in the pics, but the living bat pops out from the card.

Thanks for looking!  Hopefully I can survive this week of challenges.;)
