Heart’s Desire Journal Page

I made a journal page for the newest Art Journal Prompt on Smeared and Smudged.  The theme is Heart’s Desire.(open to interpretation)

I also would like to submit my page for Smudgy Antics Anything Goes Challenge, and for PosionedPeas First Challenge.

And with flash…

This page was very personal for me.  It focuses on my struggle of living with a panic disorder, and how I wish my heart could just stay at a steady rhythm all the time.  Gears are from 100 Proof Press, letter stamps are from Studio G, clock stamp is from Graphic 45, and the heart is from Smeared Ink.

And my daughter wanted to make something again for the Smudgy Antics challenge, so here’s her card, using stamps from Smeared Ink.

She drew a little spider on top of the web.:)

Thanks for looking!

I'm so happy you and your daughter both decided to participate again with Smudgy Antics!

Your daughter's project is awesome! I love how she tore the paper around the sentiment for a grungy look. Her added spider to the web is way cool and again...her coloring is fabulous! She is quite talented and I hope she continues to play along with us!

Laura...your project is intense! Thank you for sharing such a personal struggle. I have a panic disorder as well so I can totally relate to your piece. Your imagery and use of color is strong and totally fitting for your journal page. Rock on!

Thanks to your daughter too for joining us at Smudgy Antics. Her creation made me laugh - that Grumpie looks soooooo peeved at being shot. :-D She's very clever. Hugs to you both xxx

I also can relate to this. I echo everyone else's view that it is a fabulous way to depict s personal struggle - and having the courage to share it, as well, is awesome.
I hope you are as proud of your daughter as I surely would be after making this super card. That little spider is just the little extra it needed and that need was recognised :-D. Well done to both of you and I'm glad you shared this with us at Smudgy Antics this week xx
