March Smeared and Smudged Member Hop!

I haven’t done one of these in a while, so I’m very happy to be joining in the monthly member hop from Smeared and Smudged today.  The theme we were given was “END OF THE RAINBOW...SHOW US WHAT'S AT THE END OF YOUR RAINBOW”.

If you arrived here from the ever lovely Kapree, then you’re on the right track.  If not, the full hop list will be posted below so that you can find your way.

So, I was actually honest with this one.  I thought about what I would like to find at the end of a rainbow and although I did consider a portal to Wonderland, this is what I would be happier with.Winking smile

Ever since I was a little kid I have wanted to run away with the circus.  I’ve always seen myself as a bit of a sideshow freak.  And then I read The Night Circus last month.  So I would want to be a part of “Le Cirque des Reves” in particular.

The contortionist image is from Smeared Ink.  The twisted tree stamp is from Taylored Expressions.

I’d also like to enter this into the current challenge at Smudgy Antics, which is Anything But A Card.(My project is a canvas panel)

Thanks for looking!  Your next stop is the always amazing Susan S.!

Happy Hopping!

Oh, this is cool! Love the color choice, the monochromatic-ness (is that a word?) of it. Makes your circus scene look very eerie and inviting at the same time. Love the hand written sign too!

Laura, this is very dark and inviting. Circuses make me think of bright colours and fun. But the monochrome look works really well. XXx

What a great idea... and rather creepy... there is an eerie elegance about the tree inside the big-top.
Lovely canvas Laura, glad you hopped this month and thanks for thinking of sharing with us at Smudgy antics too.

Your canvas is wonderful; I was a bit scared of some circus acts. Vee xx

I could totally see you in a freak show and I'd be right by your side! My old joints couldn't do the contortionist thing...I'd have to be the tattooed lady...but of course I would have to get tattoos first. Anyway, I got sidetracked. Cool altered canvas. It's a bit dark and eerie and a little lonely, kind of how I feel most of the time. Maybe that's why I can totally relate. Thanks for sharing your piece with Smudgy Antics :)

I read that book, The Night Circus that this completely reminds of it. Wouldn't it be great to have the clock? Great job and project. The tent is great on how it opens up.
