I love Poe. I’ve loved Poe for as long as I can remember. My mother read/recited the lines of The Raven and Annabel Lee to me when I was a kid…and I instantly fell in love with his words. So I’m pleased to be a part of this blog hop that honors Poe’s poems along with other members of Smeared and Smudged.
Since Annabel Lee was one of the first poems of Poe’s that I read I decided to use a quote from this poem on my project. I used little letter stamps from The Paper Studio to stamp the words with ink. All the rest is acrylic paint. It’s a 6x8 canvas panel.
I’m no expert painter, so some of the proportions are a bit off, but it was still fun to paint someone that I love.
Thanks for looking! Your next stop on the hop is the fabulous Ike!
Happy Hopping!

OMG! what a fantastic piece. You captured the essence of Poe in your painting. Love how you stamped out the quote and your placement of the words. I would hang this on my wall! Great work!

Well I think you did wonderful! Your an artist so it dont matter if proportions are off a bit! You did great!
Wow, you painted the image? At first glance I was trying to figure out the company who made the "stamp" lol. I think it's amazing, gives more artistic value to me when it doesn't look like everyone else's, so the off proportions of Poe just add to it for me :)
Amazing piece and wonderful story behind it! You have definitely captured Poe's essence!
This is lovely art! what a fab mother you got. What I if my mother read those lovely things to me when I was little... xxlisa
