Kickstart Your Art Challenge–Day 3!

Hello!  I am so excited by all of the awesome participants we’ve had so far in our week long challenge!  I really hope that after this event is over you will all come join us as we post more weekly prompts and techniques in the Art Journal Every Day group at Smeared and Smudged.  I’ve noticed that several have made comments about not being “good” at art journaling, or not knowing how to do it…but in reality you have all made beautiful pages.  Just try to remember that with art journaling there really isn’t a set “right” or “wrong”.  That’s the beauty of it…you can express yourself however you feel right at that time.

Okay, pep talk over.Winking smile  Today is a new technique challenge.  And I got to be the one to do this technique.  Huzzah!

You can find the technique instructions HERE.

And in a little under an hour you will be able to start linking your Day 3 creations on the Smeared and Smudged Blog.

Here’s my finished page…

I used the image that Smeared Ink is offering as the January Freaky Freebie on the forum.  It’s only available this month as a freebie, so run, don’t walk, and grab it before it’s gone.

And now I am compelled to tell you why I went with this color scheme and this sentiment.  I am a geek.  I love comic book-based stuff.  So, I used to watch Justice League Unlimited all the time.  There is an episode where Batman sings the classic song “Am I Blue” and it is totally awesome.  So yes, my journal page is based on one of my favorite cartoon episodes.

Thanks for looking!  And if you actually read all of my ramblings, then you deserve a hug.

Loved the tut and your page is fab! Even better after reading your ispiration. Still trying to get over the "no right or wrong" part of Art journaling, but I'm having a blast. xxD

Great use of such an odd ball image. Lovin it! The button use is superbly circular for the page too.
